The Clinicus’ team of professional specialists in beauty and health based in Klaipėda consists of a plastic surgeon, a dermatologist, a beauty therapist, an ENT physician, an orthopaedic traumatologist, and a medical pedicure specialist.
The team of Clinicus is convinced that a comprehensive approach to patients’ problems – from assessment of the skin condition to selection of the most suitable treatment method or a relevant plastic surgery – helps implement the changes you expect.
Plastic Surgeon Dr Rokas Bagdonas (Klaipėda): ‘I feel exalted and happy being able to help a person looking for a solution. The love and respect for art and medicine passed from one generation to the next could not bypass me.’
Professionalism, aesthetics and experience are the values that guide the surgeon: ‘It’s very important to see your work not as a business but as a calling, a way of life, and to continuously develop and think of ways to help every person. I have to unconditionally give a part of myself to the patients, whether they need me during my working hours or on weekends. I can say without any doubt that I love my work and the people for the good of whom I work. My calling is my life with all of its joys and experiences. The path chosen, as well as the love for work and the patient, respect for the human being drive me to grow.’
Surgeon R. Bagdonas not only has the doctor’s calling in his genes, but is connected with art. His late father, Dr habil. Edmundas Pranas Bagdonas, was a thoracic surgeon, his mother, Irena Žuklytė-Bagdonienė, an artist. His late grandfather Vladas Žuklys was a famous sculptor. As a child, the surgeon used to watch his grandfather create graceful and precise forms of the human body from formless clay mass. When he was sixteen, his dad brought him to the operating-room for the first time. Since that day, it has become what he does every day, a way of life.
The wife of Dr R. Bagdonas, Agnė Bagdonė, is a dermatovenerologist. The couple have four children: Paulina, Jonas, Mykolas, and Barbora.
Plastic Surgeon Dr Dainus Daunoravičius: ‘Having succeeded in solving a person’s physical problem, we help to solve psychological issues and develop self-esteem at the same time. The results are clearly seen during postoperative visits when the patients arrive with shining faces, happy and self-confident. It is a great pleasure for me to see such harmony resulting from changes both on the outside and the inside, as this is the highest acclaim of our work.’
Plastic surgery is work and leisure, as well as an endless field for improvement to D. Daunoravičius: ‘The latest knowledge, new opportunities and mastered innovative operational techniques and tactics are especially important for people of our field. That is why I do traineeships at foreign clinics at least 5 times a year and read the latest scientific literature. I think the unique opportunity to improve a patient’s wellbeing brings joy to every specialist in plastic and reconstructive surgery.’
Dr D. Daunoravičius comes from a family of physicians, professors, and artists in various fields. Medicine, art, and music have been accompanying the surgeon since he was a child: ‘As a child, I would frequent the hospital departments where my dad and grandfather practised, and their meaningful work as doctors left a huge impression on me. I also used to spend a lot of time in the workshop of another grandfather, a professor in the Academy of Arts, where we modelled and moulded gypsum sculptures together. Therefore, when I found plastic surgery, which I perceive as a synthesis of art, science and medicine, there was no doubt.’
Surgeon D. Daunoravičius and his wife Ieva, an obstetrician gynaecologist, have three children: Ūla, Bernardas, and Leonas.
Dermatologist Agnė Bagdonė: ‘Communication is extremely important. There should be no misunderstanding between a doctor and a patient, therefore, I attach great importance to communication – though it is possible to perform a treatment in 10 minutes, I may work on it for 30 or even 40 minutes, as attention to each individual case is what ensures the best result.’
The Klaipėda-based dermatologist (skincare physician) consults and provides treatments using modern methods to patients of all ages, as well as provides laser skin treatments.
Agnė Bagdonė, a dermatovenerologist who accomplished her residency training in Klaipėda and Kaunas, has enhanced her knowledge in the field of aesthetic medicine by actively participating in seminars and congresses.
A. Bagdonė, who comes from a family of well-known medical doctors from Plungė, had few doubts when the time to choose a subject of studies came. The priority of the school graduate with excellent marks was medical studies. Her father Vytautas, who worked as an obstetrician gynaecologist for many years, and her mother Aldona, who worked as a nurse, approved of their daughter’s choice. Parents supported Agnė, urging her to choose the studies that were appealing to her.
After 6 years of general medicine studies at the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences and 1 year of internship, A. Bagdonė was considering the field of the pediatrics, however, meeting her future husband, R. Bagdonas, a plastic surgeon who worked at the Klaipėda State Hospital, helped her to make a final decision. He inspired his future wife to choose dermatology studies so they would be able to work together, combining the knowledge gained. A dermatologist is a plastic surgeon’s indispensable helper, one that prepares problematic skin for surgery.
The Rokas and Agnė family has four children and, in 2014, they established Clinicus Klaipėda.
