Clinicus Klaipėda carries out treatment of snoring. We diagnose and provide treatment of snoring-related disorders and obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS).

Symptoms of snoring are caused by excessive soft tissue in the mouth and/or throat caused by an enlarged palate, tonsils, or uvula.

When you cannot sleep well because of snoring at night, you feel sleepiness during daytime and find it difficult to focus on things, and suffer from excessive body weight, one possible suspect is sleep apnea, a condition dangerous to your health.

The diagnosis may involve several procedures: a polysomnography study when the duration of snoring, the frequency of respiratory failure during sleep, and other respiratory disorders are recorded. A nose and throat examination is carried out using a flexible endoscope to determine the potential cause of snoring – the narrowest passage of the upper respiratory tract.

The treatment of snoring begins when a diagnosis is established. Though a variety of measures can be taken to remove the problem, surgical treatment is among the most effective.

Uvulopalatopharyngoplasty is the removal of excess tissue in the throat to widen the airway.

The otolaryngologist may consult with other specialists when diagnosing and prescribing the treatment for snoring and OSAS.

The otolaryngologist (an ENT physician) at Clinicus Klaipėda provides consulting to children and adults with ear, nose, throat, and tonsils diseases.
