It is a usual practice to try to mask the reddish nose and the cheeks lined with tiny blood vessels with makeup, and, in extreme cases, people are so embarrassed by their appearance that they avoid socialising and meeting new people.

How to treat facial redness?

‘The solution to this problem is much simpler, more convenient and more durable,’ says Agnė Bagdonė, a dermatovenerologist at the Clinicus Klaipėda aesthetic medicine clinic. It is the removal of blood vessels using a special ultra-modern laser.

At Clinicus Klaipėda, we use the QuadroStar PRO Yellow laser designed for vascular treatment by the prestigious German company Asclepion. ‘This is one of the most advanced lasers of this type. This laser not only extremely efficiently eradicates small red blood vessels or their derivatives that cause the unwanted facial redness – it may also be used to treat the capillaries visible on the surface of the legs, as sometimes patients come to us with requests like that,’ says A. Bagdonė. According to her, laser wavelengths that are in the yellow range are absorbed by melanin and haemoglobin very well, making it the ideal device for treating superficial vascular lesions. According to the doctor, the laser-based treatment of redness is a relatively simple procedure. Based on the size of the facial area to be treated or the amount of the capillaries to be removed, one or two nozzles are used. The specialist removes the excess capillaries by covering millimetre after millimetre of the patient’s skin with the laser nozzle, which takes up just 5 to 10 minutes (about half an hour where all facial skin is treated). If the areas of enlarged capillaries on the face are large, the laser-based treatment of facial redness may require 2–3 procedures. Patient feedback on this treatment is particularly good.

No special preparations for the treatment are required from the patient, and a person can enjoy the regained good looks right after it: the effect is visible immediately. ‘However, we advise avoiding direct sunlight for about a month following the treatment or, if that is not possible, using a sunscreen. Therefore, autumn, winter and early spring, when the intensity of the sun is low, is the best time to have the capillaries or their formations removed,’ says the dermatovenerologist at Clinicus Klaipėda.

The treatment does not cause any side effects: according to A. Bagdonė, the removal of surface capillaries (and there are thousands of them in the facial area) will definitely not cause any blood circulation problems. However, it should be admitted that a certain consequence is always apparent: the face of a person following the treatment is … just beautiful. Just the way it should be and all of us want it to be, which is the best effect possible.

Laser treatment for capillaries

Red nose, vascular blemishes on cheeks may cause psychological and aesthetic discomfort in both men and women. According to experts and patients themselves, the laser removal of capillaries is a modern, safe, and effective treatment method.

Agnė Bagdonė, a dermatologist at Clinicus Klaipėda aesthetic medicine clinic, describes how to treat facial capillaries using a laser by the German manufacturer Asclepion Lazer Technologies.

Quadro Star Pro Yellow, one of the most advanced lasers by this manufacturer, helps get rid of spider veins on the face (telangiectasia), hemangiomas, and the so-called “spider” naevi. This laser can remove capillaries and prevent unwanted redness not only in the area of the face, but also on the skin of the legs.

Blood vessel removal using a laser is a simple procedure for treating superficial vascular lesions. During the procedure, the nozzle of the laser (two nozzles are used for the treatment of larger areas of the skin) moves thoroughly over the skin.

Enlarged facial capillaries are removed by working the skin with the laser, covering a millimetre after a millimetre, which takes up to 10 minutes and about 30 minutes where all facial skin is treated. If the areas of enlarged capillaries on the face are large, you may need 2–3 treatments.

The price of removing capillaries and visible redness in the face area is between € 80 and 150; laser treatment of various vascular lesions: between € 30 and 50.

The aesthetically unappealing look caused by facial redness may be removed with laser treatment fairly quickly, and the result is visible immediately afterwards.
