What is PRP?
PRP is platelet-enriched plasma. The human blood contains plasma, red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets. Platelets ensure the clotting of the blood and contain large quantities of biologically active substances: various enzymes and growth factors that stimulate wound healing, skin and bone regeneration, and formation of new blood vessels.
PRP injections are a natural treatment to promote skin rejuvenation, plus they are widely used to treat hair loss. It is a safe and highly effective method for solving a variety of skin-related problems. PRP has a strong effect on tissue regeneration and healing.
PRP therapy provides a similar result to that obtained after a face tightening (facelift) treatment. The rejuvenation of skin with PRP is based on the platelets releasing a variety of growth factors that tissue regeneration, angiogenesis and production of collagen (a protein that improves elasticity, firmness and regeneration of the skin). This treatment also smoothens wrinkles and eliminates acne scars.
The obtained PRP concentrate is injected or massaged into the area of the skin to be treated, and that is what the extent of it.
Platelet-derived growth factors activate natural skin stem cells, stimulate skin cells and promote collagen and elastin production.
